51 Days and It's Going Well...REALLY Well
After 51 days of being scared of holding only a part time job, I have found that working from home 4 days and going to work for only 3 days in a week suits me rather nicely. It has almost become normal now. Well, for me anyhow. It seems that when people see you at home they forget that you might actually be doing something- not just open to every opportunity to run out here and there. Friends, family- all think you have "free time" now because you don't go to a regular job. I have to say that I am THE most undisciplined work at home person and it is taking ALL the fight in me to stay focused. Well, you know what they say- after 60 days everything becomes a habit- maybe I can get these folks trained after all!
What am I doing with my "free time"? The first and foremost thing I wanted was to be more devoted to going to church with regularity. Wednesday night for Bible study and Saturday night for church. I am thankful for what God has given me. I always said that when something bad happens to you it is just God opening another door. Can't wait to see what's going to happen!
I have also been spending time researching new avenues of marketing and selling on the internet. Of course I have found Twitter and, while at first I did not get it, I now LOVE it and see the marketing value in it. I also have Facebook, but I like to keep it personal for friends. But don't think I don't market to them on a regular basis!
While on Twitter I noticed a large group of folks marketing their Etsy stores. Well, after a month and a half of that I finally signed up! Best thing I've done recently! This group of folks has been the most welcoming community I have found so far. Within hours I had my first paid order! Lots of traffic there so it should be good! Check it out at: www.morgenbladet.etsy.com I am so glad to have found a new venue to market the goods! Take a look at the other people selling there as well- lots of good stuff to be found!
My other venue is eBay- my old faithful! I have been a regular seller on eBay since 2003 and it has always provided me the extra money I have needed. Now it just needs to provide more. Which means... MORE SHOPPING! Got to have product! Lord knows I have a lot, but now I have more! I am finding that I am going to have to be better organized as there is just NO place to put anything here!
Aside from that I had the time last night to spend with two 13 year old boys- my boyfriend's son and his friend, Justin. They were bored so we stood in the soft rain for awhile, got some pizza and watched Marley and Me. Does it get any better than that? I bet it will....

Sharing Links To Websites
I have spent a lot of time networking my link to my website on social networking sites with a lot of success. I thought to myself, why not start a blog and add one more avenue to get the name out there. Then the next thought was- what about all my friends plugging their websites? Why not include them, too? So, here goes! Pass on this blog and share a link in your comments. We all have to help each other out, especially now. I personally make up my extra income on eBay and now, even more so, I depend on that as half of my income.
I am also interested in what others are doing and all the creative ideas they come up with to supplement their own incomes. Who knows what even the smallest ideas will eventually create! Maybe even financial freedom? Or just a better life! Let's get going!
Here is the link to my website. Please pass it on as I will do for you!

Hours Reduction in the Work Place
On the morning of July 20th I heard an interesting blurb on the radio while riding to work. The announcer said that in this recession some of our hours at our jobs may be reduced. He went on to caution that now is not the time to "threaten" our employer with leaving, but to stay with our job and be thankful that we have a job, no matter what the circumstance.
I went in the office as usual and recounted the story to my own boss. At 3:00 that afternoon he came in to tell me that the company had decided to reduce my position from full time to part time. Wow! Can't say I wasn't warned about that one! I kept my calm, made it through the rest of the day, then cried like a baby all the way to my friend's house.
Now what?...
